We are constantly surprised by the food products that Latin America produces and exports. In this case, on one of our trips to the corners of Paraguay, I found regional communities harvesting oranges not for their consumption, but to peel the skin, dry it, and then export it to Germany.
My first reaction was: What are the peels used for? For tea.
Generally, it is men who lead the work in the field due to the requirement for the use of heavy machinery, but the interesting thing about this export product is the role of women, who lead the harvesting process with their hands.
