While working from a café in Bogotá, Colombia, Ignacio Arambarri shared the story behind Finanex, a U.S.-based trade finance platform helping food-exporting SMEs across Latin America access the working capital they need to grow internationally.

Finanex combines technology, trade data, and flexible financing solutions to support exporters that are often underserved by traditional financial institutions. Through its platform, the company has helped food exporters expand into global markets while improving access to capital.

How Finanex Was Founded

Finanex was founded by Ignacio Arambarri and Víctor Palazzo with a clear mission: to close the financing gap faced by food exporters across Latin America.

As global food supply chains became increasingly fragile, the founders recognized that thousands of agricultural SMEs had strong products and international buyers but lacked access to the financing needed to grow. Finanex was created to bridge that gap through faster, more flexible trade finance solutions tailored to the realities of international commerce.

Exploring New Markets

From the beginning, Finanex focused on supporting exports to markets beyond the traditional U.S. and Mexico corridors, including Europe and Asia.

By combining technology with deep expertise in international trade, the company simplifies both financing and risk assessment. Exporters can access financing through digital channels while benefiting from faster approvals, streamlined processes, and solutions designed around their operating cycles.

Growth Through Technology

One of Finanex’s biggest challenges has been encouraging the adoption of digital tools within an industry that has relied on the same processes for decades.

The company continues to invest heavily in technology to make trade finance more transparent, efficient, and accessible for exporters across the region.

An Experienced Team

Despite maintaining a lean and agile organization, Finanex brings together professionals with extensive experience in international trade, banking, technology, and agribusiness.

Co-founder Víctor Palazzo contributes more than three decades of experience in international banking and trade finance, including senior roles at Irving Trust (now Bank of New York).

The technology team combines deep expertise in software development, artificial intelligence, and scalable product design, enabling Finanex to build digital solutions tailored to the needs of exporters and financial partners.

Looking Ahead

Today, Finanex continues expanding across Latin America with the mission of making trade finance faster, more transparent, and more accessible.

By combining technology, strategic partnerships, and innovative financing structures, the company is helping food-exporting SMEs reach new markets, strengthen rural economies, and contribute to a more resilient global food supply chain.
